BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- LSU women's basketball assistant coach Seimone Augustus was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame over the weekend. Augustus started her Hall of Fame speech by singing Garth Brooks' "Callin' Baton Rouge" before telling her story through a poem about Louisiana, basketball and dreams. "This year has been quite the hall of fame year for me. I've been inducted into four. The East Baton Rouge Parish Hall of Fame, the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame and now the cherry on top, the Naismith Hall of Fame and I just want to say thank you," said Augustus. According to LSU Athletics, in her college career, Augustus helped lead the LSU Lady Tigers to its first three Final Four appearances. She was the first former female student-athlete at the university to get a statue in her honor in 2023.
