AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The heat just won't end.... but relief is finally on the way. Temperatures for Monday and Tuesday will remain in the upper 90s with sunny skies and dry conditions. Temperature records Austin's forecast high of 96° this afternoon will match the current record set back in 2015. This run of heat looks to finally be nearing its end as statistically we normally start to cool down by mid to late October. Our next front is expected to finally arrive late Tuesday and into Wednesday keeping us in the 70s Wednesday afternoon and low to mid-50s Thursday morning. Temperatures for the next four days While this front will definitely help out temperature wise, this will not bring any rain with it at all. When will it rain? Rain chances will hover near 0% through Thursday before bumping up Friday and Saturday. An upper level low to our west, in combination with a little more moisture to work with locally, could result in a few isolated to spotty showers on Saturday. Spotty rain possible Saturday It has been 38 days since measurable rainfall at Camp Mabry in Austin. We are in a moderate drought (USDM). Tropics There is an area that we are watching in the Atlantic Basin. There is a 50% chance of tropical development in the next 7 days. One disturbance in the Atlantic worth monitoring No US tropical threat for the next 7-10 days. MISS THE COLD?
