MANASSAS, Va. (DC News Now) -- The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said it is investigating after officers found a man and a woman shot inside a home in Manassas on Sunday morning. According to police, at around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 8900 block of Hanson Grove Court for a welfare check. Inside the home's basement area, officers found a man and a woman, both appearing to have been shot. They died there. The parties involved all know each other and the shooting does not appear to be random, according to PWCPD. As of Sunday afternoon, no charges have been filed, as detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting. Police will release the identities of the man and the woman who died after notifying the next of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
