NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A big drop in temperatures is on the way this week, as a strong cold front approaches the area late Tuesday night.
Highs will remain in the upper 80s for the start of the week, with relatively pleasant mornings in the upper 60s to low 70s, thanks to a lingering dry air mass. However, after the front moves through around midnight on Tuesday, much cooler air will settle in.
Wednesday will feel noticeably cooler, with highs only reaching the low 70s and overnight lows dipping into the upper 50s. By Thursday, some areas could see morning temperatures in the mid 50s, with daytime highs hovering near 70.
These cooler conditions will stick around through the end of the week, but temperatures are expected to rebound to the mid-to-upper 70s by the weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies throughout the week, making it a great time to enjoy the cooler fall weather.
