(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Southeast Food Coalition is thanking everyone who attended and helped make its first farmers market in southeast Colorado Springs a success on Sunday, Oct. 13. The group is also seeking feedback from attendees. "There are people who don't... have the transportation or the means to go somewhere to get local and fresh produce," said Florentino Garcia, a southeast Colorado Springs community member. Today, we’re proving otherwise." According to Tsyganok, they are hoping to make the market accessible to everyone moving forward, including those using WIC and SNAP benefits. The Southeast Food Coalition's Facebook page posted a link to a survey and a request for those who attended to provide feedback on the event. "We’d love for you to share a statement about what having a farmers market in our community means to you," said the post. "Additionally, we have a brief survey we'd appreciate you taking to help us shape future markets. Your input will guide us as we work to build a market that reflects what our community wants and needs."
