Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images The Spurs’ offseason roster now stands at 20. The Spurs announced they have waived center Nathan Mensah, which brings their offseason roster down to 20. They’ll need to make at least two more cuts before opening night. The Spurs acquired the G League rights to Mensah, who played 25 games with the Hornets last season, via trade back in July. The big man was a part of San Antonio’s 2024/25 Summer League team, averaging seven points and seven rebounds in six appearances in California and Las Vegas. His play earned him a spot in training camp, but Mensah appeared in just one preseason game, logging only three minutes. He always seemed like a long shot to earn the third two-way contract the Spurs have to offer and it’s not surprising to see him go first. Zach Collins is now available, which means there’s less need for another big body, and the Silver and Black will play the last two preseason games away from San Antonio, so it was the right time to let the 26-year-old center go. The Spurs will have to continue trimming their roster to 15 regular contracts and three two-way deals. Currently, they only have one two-way slot open and three players on training camp contracts. Expect more cuts in the coming days.
