New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell travels to Mexico to participate in 'premier summit'

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is traveling to Mexico to take part in the Bloomberg CityLab 2024 summit.

City officials said Cantrell will join other mayors from across the world in Mexico City for a summit that will discuss "cutting-edge solutions for urban challenges."
The mayor will participate in discussions about political, environmental and technological challenges that cities face including topics like climate resilience, infrastructure and urban innovation.

City leaders said Cantrell will also participate in a "mayors-only forum" to discuss city issues with other attending mayors.
According to the city, Cantrell left New Orleans on Oct. 13 and will visit high schools and universities when she returns.
