BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Cheektowaga man was pronounced dead after suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a shooting that occurred Saturday in Cheektowaga, police announced. Officials said just before 5 p.m., dispatchers received 911 calls reporting that a man was shot on Cedar Road. Upon arrival, police said officers found MDrawnaq Ratin, 20, and attempted life-saving measures at the scene. Ratin was then transported by ambulance to ECMC where he was pronounced dead. According to police, one of the 911 callers identified himself as the person who fired the gun and waited for police to arrive at the scene. Police recovered a firearm they believe was used and started an investigation into the circumstances around the shooting, authorities said. Police are asking any witnesses or anyone with video evidence of the event to contact the Cheektowaga Police Detective Bureau at (716) 686-3510.
