State officials are investigating a recent Munson Township fire. The Chardon Fire Department reported in Oct. 11 social media posts that it responded to the fire on Auburn Road as part of a mutual aid response in the nearby community. It announced that the fire was producing “ton of smoke from attic and soffits,” and added shortly after that there had been a victim. A county official later stated in a phone call that the incident was under investigation by the Ohio Fire Marshal. A message was left with the Ohio Fire Marshal on Oct. 13 seeking further information.
