Pedestrian struck and killed on Route 95 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said that a pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 95 North in Providence on Oct. 12.
Police responded to the area near the Clifford Street overpass around 11:40 p.m. and declared the victim dead on scene.
Police said that the victim was the passenger of a car that stopped in the breakdown lane and walked into the travel lane, when they were struck by several vehicles.
Multiple vehicles who hit the victim stopped and cooperated with first responders, and no criminal charges have been filed.
