Four displaced following house fire in Algiers Point

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A house fire in Algiers Point left four people displaced on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The New Orleans Fire Department reported that crews responded to a home on Vallette Street around 9:06 p.m.

At the scene, firefighters found a two-story, wood-framed house that contained three apartment units on fire.
NOFD officials said 18 fire trucks carrying 47 firefighters were used to get the blaze under control around 10 p.m.

The first and second floors of the back of the house reportedly suffered significant damage.
According to the fire department, four people were displaced as a result of the fire, and two cats survived.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
