MPD: Man strikes roommate with a machete

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man was arrested Saturday morning after Memphis Police say he struck his roommate with a machete after an argument.
At approximately 1:33 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated assault in the 1000 block of Eldridge Avenue.
When they arrived, the victim told officers that he was assaulted by Michael Stigall, a man he shares a rooming house with.

He said that Stigall had a lady friend in his room but later in the night, the friend left Stigall's room and came into the victim's room.
When Stigall found out that his friend was in the victim's room, he became upset and went down to the victim's room.
Stigall banged on the door and an argument began between him and the victim.
MPD issues arrest warrant for man accused of murder
That's when the victim said Stigall managed to push the door in and allegedly swung a machete at him, cutting his left hand.
The victim called the police, who took Stigall into custody where he is being held on a $75,000 bond.
He is set to appear in court on Monday morning.
