NEWTON, N.C. – A 75-year-old man has been charged with murder after killing another man in a road rage incident Saturday in Catawba County, according to the sheriff’s office.
Just before 5 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Island Point Road and North View Harbour Drive in Catawba in regards to a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a man dead from gunshot wounds.
The sheriff’s office said witnesses told deputies that both drivers stopped and exited their vehicles when Terrell Giddens shot the victim.
Deputies said Giddens also fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle that was occupied by his three children, ages 13, 11, and two. The children were not injured.
Giddens was tracked down and arrested at a nearby residence. He has been charged with murder and three counts of attempted first degree murder.
Giddens is being held without bond.
