The OSU Lake County Master Gardener Volunteers’ last Meet Us in the Garden talk in 2024 will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 2 at the Mentor Public Library Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave. A Master Gardener will present “Putting the Garden to Bed.” It will touch on fall clean-up, pruning, composting, soil testing, amending the soil, mulching for winter, all the activities that help a garden have a good winter nap, according to a news release. A question-and-answer session will take place afterward. It’s free, but registration is required. Go to mentorpl.org, call 440-255-8811, or stop by the library, two weeks prior to the talk. Looking ahead, the Meet Us In The Garden series for 2025 will begin next March with more details to come, the release stated. To contact the Master Gardeners, email [email protected] or call 440-853-2625. The Helpline number for any gardening questions is 440-853-2625.
