Like the primaries this summer we are faced with two good choices for Seat C on the Summit County Council. Both candidates have similar positions on growth, preservation, affordability and sustainability. I believe Megan McKenna is the best choice for Summit  County’s future.   First, Megan has been a Park City resident since early childhood. Megan experienced Park City in its small-town days and has watched growth pressure take its toll on our small-town values. As a Park City resident she will defend and fight for reducing the impacts of tourism and the intensify of growth. As a longtime local she has seen first hand the consequences of growth and tourism on fellow ski patrollers, teachers in our schools and as an advocate for housing the effects of higher home prices on our community.Park City needs a cityresident for  proper representation on the County Council.I also believe that Megan’s place on the council will create a more mixed-gendered council. I believe Megan’s presence on the council will help to create a broader perspective and bring fresh ideas to the decision-making process.Malena Stevens, who did a great job for Summit County, should be replaced with another woman.Megan has saved our injured bodies on the slopes, taught our kids science in school and is firmly committed  to persevering the Summit County lifestyle for future generations.
