The 24th Twin Cities Book Festival presented by Rain Taxi Review of Books from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Progress Center on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It’s free and open to everyone with lots of stuff for the little ones to do. Things kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with an opening night reception featuring award-winning Minnesota author Charles Baxter and his new novel “Blood Test: A Comedy,” in conversation with Chicago author Miles Harvey, a nonfiction author who has just published his debut book of stories, “The Registry of Forgotten Objects.” $40. Spaces at MoZaic East, 1330 Lagoon Ave., Mpls. On Saturday authors will present on three stages — Youth & Comics, Talks, and Showcase. That’s where you will find your favorite writer in any genre. The Activities section includes eco-related activities, a STEM station and the chance to be interviewed by an author.
