COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH)  – The killer of a 21-year-old man who was fatally shot near a downtown, Columbus nightclub remains on the loose as police continue to investigate. According to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, police are on the lookout for a suspect in the death of Sylvester Watkins, who was shot and killed near the XO nightclub on East Lafayette Street on August 13, 2022. That morning, at 1:45 a.m., officers arrived at the scene and found Watkins suffering from a gunshot wound. He was listed in critical condition at a hospital, where he died several hours later. The Columbus Police Homicide Unit was called to investigate and two people were detained at the scene, but no one has been charged yet. Crime Stoppers is seeking information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
