ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Happening Saturday, it was a night of elegance and Black excellence as the Black Business Roe Committee hosted its fourth annual Black Business Roe Black Tie Gala. The organization was created to highlight black entrepreneurs whose work impacts the Rochester community at large. At the event, guests were interviewed on the red carpet, then attended a networking dinner, and got the word out about their respective businesses. Organizers shared with News 8 the importance of visibility for minority business owners. "I think it's very important because we gotta learn to [...] we have to learn to celebrate in one room, as well as uplift each other, so we can get to that one place together. It's all about togetherness and black entrepreneurship," Black Business Roe Gala Organizer Chad Grimes said. Since its beginning, Black Business Roe has honored sixteen black owned businesses recognized for their contribution to the Rochester area.
