(KRON) -- The Blue Angels canceled their long-awaited SF Fleet Week show on Saturday due to the fog, event organizers announced over X. Weather conditions deem it "not safe to fly." "They'll be back tomorrow. If you missed the action today, get ready for a great show tomorrow!" Fleet Week officials said. All about Blue Angels fan favorite ‘Fat Albert’ The Blue Angels were set to start their show at 3 p.m. SF Fleet Week announced the cancellation at about 3:40 p.m. In 2022, Blue Angels canceled their Oct. 9 show for the same reasons. The same thing happened in 2011. Here’s what Fleet Week Spokesperson Jim Havey said about prior cancellations in San Francisco in 2022: "Very rare. Cancellation has only happened once in the over 20 years the Air Show Network has produced Fleet Week Air Show," Havey said. Before the now-canceled show, viewers enjoyed performances from the US Navy Parachute Team, the Patriots Jet Team, including demos on an F-22, and the Sukhoi West Demo Team. "Bummer, the air show was cut short due to cloud cover, but we are still having a great time at Marina Green for #SFFleetWeek!" San Francisco Department of Emergency Management said on X. The elite fighter demonstration squad could be seen roaring over San Francisco on Thursday and Friday in preparation for the annual Fleet Week Air Show. The Blue Angels were supposed to take to the sky in their iconic F/A-18 Super Hornets.
