Bay Area steakhouse named best in state: report

(KRON) – A restaurant in San Francisco’s Design District was named the best steakhouse in all of California, according to Taste of Home.
The recipe magazine named Michelin star eatery Niku Steakhouse best in the Golden State.
The executive chef, Dustin Falcon, was once a busser at Wolfgang Puck in Fort Lauderdale. Nowadays, Chef Falcon infuses “Japanese influences with local ingredients to create a modern steakhouse menu,” according to Niku’s website.

Niku’s website says the steakhouse has the highest quality domestic and A5 Japanese wagyu. Per Niku, the head butcher frequently travels to Japan to source different wagyu, such as Kagawa olive wagyu and wagyu jerky.
In addition to the high-quality food, the steakhouse has an extensive wine collection with an emphasis on France and California. The steakhouse earned a Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence.
The 60-seat steakhouse has also earned a Michelin star for the last four years.
