MACON, Ga. — Dwayne McGee ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 19 carriers, Mercer’s ferocious defense forced six turnovers and scored a touchdown and the Bears, ranked No. 7 in FCS, dominated Princeton, 34-7, on Saturday afternoon. Mercer (6-0) also scored on a punt return and recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Blaine Hippa completed just 8-of-21 passes for 109 yards and was picked off four times. If there was a bright spot for the Tigers (1-3) it was running back Ethan Clark, who gained 117 yards on 21 carries against the top-ranked rush defense in FCS. Clark also had a touchdown run with 1:57 left in the second quarter that cut the Mercer lead to 17-7. Rowan 36, TCNJ 22 GLASSBORO — Nate Maiers threw for 274 yards and a touchdown, ran for a another score and the Profs (3-2, 1-0) picked off Lions quarterback Trevor Bopp four times on their way to an NJAC victory. Bopp passed for 282 yards and three touchdowns, but he turned it over four times and was sacked another four. Men’s Soccer Rider 2, Quinnipiac 0 LAWRENCEVILLE — Bryan Akongo scored his fifth of the season to stake the Broncs (8-4, 2-1) to a seventh-minute lead and Jack McGeechan wrapped up the three MAAC points over the Bobcats (4-5-1, 1-1) with a 79th minute rebound. Cornell 1, Princeton 0 PRINCETON — Giorgos Diakos scored in the 77th minute and the 20th-ranked Big Red (8-1-2, 2-1) handed the Tigers (5-4, 2-1) their first Ivy league loss. Women’s Soccer TCNJ 4, Ramapo 0 MAHWAH — Ava Curtis had a goal and an assist and the 10th-ranked Lions (10-0-2) remained unbeaten with an easy win over the Roadrunners (2-8-1, 0-4). Cassidy DiSabato gave TCNJ the lead just before halftime, and the floodgates opened in the second half with Ella Van Dine, Curtis and Rachel Robichaud all scoring. Rider 3, Merrimack 0 NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — Noa Menzing grabbed a brace, Tess Ferrie added a late tally and the Broncs (2-7-3, 1-4-1) got their first MAAC victory by beating the Warriors (5-7-2, 2-4-1). Field Hockey TCNJ 7, William Paterson 0 EWING — Rayhanan Ahmed and Ali Simmons both scored twice and the Lions (8-4, 2-0) recorded their fifth straight shutout against the Pioneers (2-9, 0-2) to give longtime coach Sharon Pfluger her 667th career victory. Pfluger moved past Enza Steele of Lynchburg to become the winningest coach in Division III history. Pfluger ranks third in NCAA history for all divisions.
