AUSTIN (KXAN) -- This day dawned with abundant sunshine and comfortable air. Most lows were in the mid and upper 50s to low 60s. Camp Mabry's low was 63°, one degree above normal. The low at Austin-Bergstrom was 58°. It's another weekend of a sunny sky and high temperatures well above normal. In addition to that we also have potential heat records that could be tied or set starting tomorrow. The normal high today is 84° The dry air continues, too, with the afternoon relative humidity falling to the teens and 20s. Plenty of heat but with dry air Tomorrow will be even hotter. The record high for October 13th is 97° set in 1991. The area may have a few highs tomorrow in triple digitsRecord highs will be threatened Monday and Tuesday. The record for Monday is 96° set in 2015. Tuesday's record is also 96° set in 2019. Forecast high both days is 96°. Day 2 of Weekend 2 of the Austin City Limits Music Festival will be a few degrees hotter than what was felt at Zilker Park on Day 2 last weekend. Hot times at Zilker Park A cold front is headed to the area, arriving overnight Tuesday to Wednesday. There will be a noticeable drop in temperatures as we leave the 90s for the 80s. Lower temperatures the second half of the week Finally, It has been 37 days ... and counting ... since the last measured rain at Camp Mabry. The streak may end late in the week.
