The Detroit Lions will seek revenge on the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, traveling back down to Jerry World for the third time in as many years. But unlike the previous two matchups, the Lions are road favorites against the uneven Cowboys. Dallas has won two in a row, but beating the Steelers and Giants clearly hasn’t changed the perception of the Cowboys as a team that is currently underperforming. The Lions, on the other hand, went into their bye week with a big win over the Seattle Seahawks. They sit at 3-1, second in the NFC North behind the Vikings—who are the only undefeated team in the conference. Like any game, the Lions and Cowboys match will be decided by the performances of a few stars. So today’s Question of the Day is: Who will be the player of the game in Lions vs. Cowboys? My answer: I’m going to be relatively boring here and say Aidan Hutchinson. The Cowboys haven’t been very successful in the run game this year, and I certainly don’t expect that to change against the Lions. That means we’re likely in for a pass-heavy game from Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense. That will allow Hutchinson to pin his ears back and tee off on Prescott. And rushing opposite right tackle Terence Steele—who has allowed three sacks this season and ranks 47th out of 54 qualifying tackles in PFF pass blocking grade—should provide Hutchinson with a favorable matchup for most of the day. Now, Prescott does get rid of the ball quickly, so it won’t be easy for Hutchinson to get home. However, even if he doesn’t get the sacks on Sunday, I think he’ll be disruptive enough to force Prescott into a costly mistake or two.
