This week started off with a feisty news conference held by the mayor to announce his new appointments to the school board, just days after all members of the current school board announced they were resigning. It continued with Cook County government unveiling its budget for 2025, Gov. JB Pritzker traveling to Japan and Illinois joining a lawsuit with other state attorneys general against Tiktok.  We are less than a month from Election Day, and Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are doing long sit-down interviews to try to win over voters. Another hurricane hit Florida this week, which some think will have implications in the election.  The Bears crushed the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and are in London, where they will face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Meanwhile, the Cubs reflected on their season after missing the playoffs for the fourth time in four seasons. Without further ado, let’s get to it.
