Penfield 29, Rush-Henrietta 28 (OT) Three touchdowns on the ground from AJ Theodorakakos gave Penfield the edge in the overtime victory on Friday, defeating Rush-Henrietta 29-28. Penfield led 14-0 at the half with touchdown runs from Theodorakakos and Dominic Giunta, but the Royal Comets fought back with 14 unanswered points. A passing touchdown from Jackson Koppers to Jahquin Brown along with a rushing score from Koppers tied it at 14-14 to start the fourth quarter. Koppers entered the game in the third quarter for the injured starter, Brendan Mangone. Penfield answered with a rushing touchdown from Theodorakakos to put the Patriots back out front 21-14.  With just 40 seconds remaining, Koppers kept it for the touchdown to send the game to overtime.  Rush-Henrietta elected to get the ball first and scored on the first play. The touchdown came from Justin Medina to give Rush-Henrietta the 28-21 lead.  On their overtime possession, Penfield handed it off to Theodorakakos who found the endzone on a four-yard rush. The Patriots went for two, and Theodorakakos dove into the endzone to give Penfield the win by one point.  Theodorakakos led the offense with 155 yards on 32 carries, followed by Zane Kropman with 81 yards on 19 carries.  Penfield's defense was led by Ronan Boyle with eight tackles and three tackles for loss. Anthony Fallon also totaled eight tackles in the win.  Penfield (2-4) will host Hilton on Friday, October 18th. Rush-Henrietta (1-5) will travel to Aquinas on the same evening. Schroeder 41, Gates Chili 13 Aydin Stephens had a trio of touchdowns as Schroeder pulled past the Spartans for their third straight win. Stephens had a pair of short rushing touchdowns in the second quarter, finishing with 45 yards on the ground. He also caught a 35-yard touchdown. Schroeder and Gates Chili were tied at 7 before Stephens plunged in for his scores to give the Warriors a 20-7 halftime lead. Tyler Washington had a big day in the air, as he caught seven passes for 127 yards and a touchdown for Schroeder. Kaylin Watkins had a pair of touchdown passes. Daniel Hilfiker tossed a short pass to Anthony Amico who had an impressive run after the catch for a 29-yard touchdown on fourth and long in the first quarter. Amir Davis had an impressive 29-yard touchdown pass from Gavin Sweeney in the first quarter for Gates Chili. Antwan Davis and Zayden Williams each had interceptions for the Spartans in the first quarter. Schroeder (3-3) will try to make it four in a row when they host Victor on Friday, October 18th. Gates Chili (0-6) will try to get in the win column when they host Thomas on the same night. Victor 35, Spencerport 14 After trailing 14-13 at the half, Victor outscored the Rangers 22-0 in the second half to come away with the victory. Gus Pappajohn had a trio of touchdown passes to lead the Blue Devils to victory. Eric Young scored a 64-yard touchdown in the second quarter which pulled Victor even 7-7. James Mack III showed impressive balance and strength to stay on his feet and fight off a defender to make it 13-7 later in the quarter. On fourth and goal at the end of the first half, Amari Marianetti-Smith took a direct snap, ran towards the line of scrimmage, and threw a jump pass to a wide-open David Blahowicz for a 14-13 halftime lead. However, Pappajohn threw a 30-yard touchdown to Kyle Seager to open the third quarter followed by a Matt Langan touchdown to make it 28-14 heading to the fourth. Pappajohn threw a final touchdown to Seager in the final frame to close out the scoring. Marianetti-Smith had a rushing touchdown for Spencerport to pen the game's scoring. Victor (2-4) will travel to Schroeder on Friday, October 18th. Spencerport (1-5) will visit undefeated Brighton on the same night. Canandaigua 55, Wilson 12 Wilson opened the game by scoring a pick-six, but it was all Gray Wolves from then on out as Canandaigua moved to 6-0 on the season. Adam Rapp Jr. snagged an interception on the second play from scrimmage and ran it 67 yards for a touchdown to give Wilson a 6-0 lead. Canandaigua then scored a trio of touchdowns in less than seven minutes in the first quarter to put the game out of reach. The Gray Wolves finished the game with six rushing touchdowns and led 48-12 at the half. Ash Colletti had ten carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Cayden Gullace had seven rushes for 92 yards and a pair of scores. Drew Williamee had 140 yards, two passing touchdowns, and also ran in another. Mason DePew had a rushing touchdown. Nate Brinza and Payton Holtby each had receiving touchdowns. Jah'ki Burgess had Wilson's other touchdown, coming on a kickoff return. Batavia 7, Eastridge 0 After defeating Honeoye Falls-Lima last week by multiple scores, it seemed like the B in Class B would stand for Batavia this year. However, the Lancers gave the Blue Devils all they could handle on Friday night and nearly came away with the upset victory. The two defenses put on a show as both teams were scoreless heading into the fourth quarter. However, Batavia finally broke through for the game's first and only touchdown. Bronx Buchholz connected with Maggio Buchholz for a ten-yard touchdown pass with seven minutes to play to finally break the scoring drought. Maggio Buchholz and Da'Von Gallo-Williams each had interceptions for the Blue Devils. Buchholz made his after Eastridge crossed midfield looking for the game-tying score. Marion Bell and Myles Halmond had interceptions for the Lancers. Ian Schneeberger made 14 tackles, with six coming for a loss. Briyceton Thomas had a sack and ten tackles. Batavia (6-0) will host Vertus on Friday, October 18th. Eastridge (3-3) will visit HF-L on the same night. Avon 41, Geneseo/Mount Morris 8 Kalman Dolgos and Wesley Farley each had three rushing touchdowns in a win over Geneseo/Mount Morris to remain undefeated.  Dolgos scored first at the end of the first quarter, followed by two more before halftime. The River Hawks led 28-0 at half with Farley also taking one to the endzone. Dolgos finished with 106 yards on 13 carries and completed four passes for 76 yards. Farley scored three touchdowns with 169 yards on 16 carries.  Avon's defense was led by Bobby Bridges with 10 tackles and Jordan Murray with eight. Elijah Rex earned an interception. Avon (6-0) will travel to Attica Central on Saturday, October 18th. Geneseo/Mount Morris (4-2) will host Canisteo-Greenwood.  Wayne 14, Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton 6 Brodie Newmyer tossed a pair of second-half touchdowns to move the Eagles to 4-1 on the season. Trailing 6-0, Newmyer tossed a touchdown to LJ Croft for a 7-6 lead. In the fourth quarter, Newmyer dodged a would-be tackler and threw a perfect pass to Khalen Clark for an insurance touchdown. Newmyer went 10-for-14 on the day with 151 passing yards. Michael Grasso led the Wayne defense, making nine tackles with four coming for a loss. The Eagles held DWC to just 145 yards of offense. Aiden Schafer had a rushing touchdown to give Dansville-Wayland-Cohocton a 6-0 lead in the third quarter. Clayton Rigdon made an interception on defense for DWC. Wayne (4-1) will hit the road to take on Olympia/Odyssey on Friday, October 18th. DWC (2-3) will travel to play Hornell/Arkport-Canaseaga on Saturday, October 26th.
