YOSEMITE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Yosemite National Park is ending its reservation season two weeks early due to a lack of visitors, park staff said.
According to park rangers, reservations will not be required to drive into Yosemite starting Monday, Oct. 14. The reservation requirement was planned to extend through Oct. 27.
Park staff say the change of plans is due to the lower-than-expected visitor turnout they found after monitoring visitor use patterns and impacts.

The national park says refunds will automatically be issued to anyone who purchased a peak-hours reservation that is valid after Oct. 13. Until then, a $2 reservation is still required to enter the park between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m.
