BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — On Friday, hundreds of people marched to the North Dakota State Capitol with a pro-life message. Known as the 'March for Life,' families, faith leaders, and students marched from the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit to the state capitol. The event is hosted by the ND Pro-Life Committee. They're sharing the message after the overturning of the court case Roe v. Wade and more recently, a court decision that threw out a recently passed law that provided a near-total abortion ban in North Dakota. "It's not a political issue primarily, it's a human issue," University of Mary Chaplain Father Dominic Bouck said. "And we want to stand up for what's right, and so when we look back in hundred years from now, we think we can be proud of what we did on this day, even if we're unpopular, even if the polls aren't going our way, there's still people who think that life in the womb should be protected by the law." Last month, Judge Bruce Romanick threw out the recently passed abortion law, arguing it was unconstitutional. This week, he also ruled that the state cannot enforce the abortion ban while it's awaiting arguments before the North Dakota Supreme Court. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
