NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexicans are heading to Florida and Georgia to help out with hurricane relief. Xcel Energy, which serves parts of eastern New Mexico, has sent more than 100 employees from six states, including a few from New Mexico, to help respond to power outages from Hurricane Milton. PNM has also sent contracted crews to help with restoration efforts. Xcel Energy said that if restoration efforts continue to be in high demand, they will look to switch out crew members.
