TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A 27-year-old Fall River man has been charged in connection with a crash that claimed the life of a Taunton woman last month, according to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn. Andrew Sousa is accused of operating under the influence in the Sept. 15 crash that killed 24-year-old Mallory Humphreys. RELATED: 24-year-old nurse killed in Taunton crash Quinn said Sousa was driving down Route 44 when he rear-ended a tractor-trailer. Humphreys, who was in the passenger's seat of Sousa's car, died as a result of the crash. Sousa has been charged with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. He was released on $5,000 bail and ordered not to drive or drink alcohol. Sousa's next court date is scheduled for November. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
