Léelo en español aquí The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the intersection of Jenkintown Road and Abington Avenue in the Glenside section of Abington Township, officials said. Police said that a 21-year-old man, identified as Jason MacDonald, of Philadelphia, was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed when he did not stop at a red light. When MacDonald went through the red light, he crashed into a vehicle that was legally passing through the intersection with the green light, police explained. Following the crash, the car with MacDonald and his passenger, identified as 21-year-old Goldwin Prince, of Philadelphia, then drove onto the sidewalk where a 13-year-old girl was talking to the crossing guard, police said. MacDonald and Prince’s car struck the teen girl before the two men ran away from the scene on foot, police said. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both MacDonald and Prince were quickly arrested by Abington officers, officials reported. Prince was found illegally carrying a handgun. SkyForce10 was over the scene where two cars could be seen with damage as yellow police tape blocked off the area. The one vehicle is a silver SUV that appeared to have lost its front bumper. The second vehicle is a dark-colored sedan that had its drivers door open. Drivers are being asked to detour by using Easton Road to Keswick Avenue to Wharton Road to Highland Avenue. Police said that MacDonald is expected to be charged with several felonies including aggravated assault, reckless driving and fleeing an accident. Prince is expected to be charged with firearms violations and possession of marijuana. This is a developing story. Check back here for updates
