HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A residential fire in Nanakuli was extinguished by the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) on October 10, 2024, following a 911 call received at 11:10 p.m. Get Hawaii's latest morning news delivered to your inbox, sign up for News 2 You Firefighters responded to the blaze at 89-535 Puakolu Street with 12 units and approximately 37 personnel. The first unit arrived on the scene at 11:16 p.m. and found a working fire in a single-story home. HFD crews secured a water supply and launched an aggressive fire attack while conducting primary and secondary searches to ensure no occupants were inside. Waimanalo Homeless Shelter receives new lease on life The fire was brought under control by 11:35 p.m. and fully extinguished by 12:32 a.m. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist four residents displaced by the fire. All HFD personnel were accounted for, and no injuries were reported. An investigation is underway to determine the fire's origin and cause, as well as to assess the damage.
