Real Men Vote: 100 Black Men to host Baton Rouge event to boost election turnout
Oct 11, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - Ahead of Election Day, 100 Black Men of Baton Rouge will host an event to encourage more men to head to the polls in November.
"I understand it's been a long election season, and it may feel like you're being bombarded everywhere, but this is our opportunity, right? We have the opportunity to make sure that we have the community we desire," said Michael B. Victorian, president-elect of 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge.
Victorian said voting in the local elections is just as important as the presidential races.
"Your local elected officials have kind of a more direct impact on your life than even the presidential election. So it's equally important, if not more so, to make sure that your voice is heard at the local level" said Victorian.
This event is lead by the local chapter of the organization.

The Real Men Vote event will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Executive Center at 250 S. Foster Drive, Baton Rouge. It's free and open to the public.
Women and people of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
