Pastor and GOP candidate for Indiana lieutenant governor Micah Beckwith said that he would fire staff members with pronouns in their email signature at a Monroe County Republican dinner in Bloomington.   "If you think that men can be women and women can be men, and there’s pronouns needed when we’re talking to one another, you don’t understand the basics of even reality,” he said at the dinner earlier this month. He claimed that having pronouns in an email signature is an indicator of being a part of the “deep state” or “far-left value systems.” The entire statement can be seen in a video posted to YouTube by the Bloomingtonian.   “If you can’t get 2+2 right, I’m not going to put you in the algebra department. Do you get what I’m saying?” he said.   He recognized after the statements that it would be difficult to “get rid” of employees based on email signatures, but he would do his part to move the workers to a place of less influence.   Beckwith joins GOP gubernatorial candidate Mike Braun on the ticket this year. His nomination from Indiana’s Republican delegation landed him the spot, despite Braun choosing state Rep. Julie McGuire for the role.
