SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — No fall would be complete without a chance to get lost in corn, and Clark Farms has brought back its annual corn maze with a new theme, the big top maze. “We’re not geared towards like a haunted situation, but we are trying to make it a little interesting for older kids, teenage kids. So, we do offer this nighttime product of flashlight night, this Saturday night,” said Richard Clark, the owner at Clark Farms. “So, we’re going to make our way through the corn. It can be a little bit eerie we do have a scavenger hunt out here so we’re looking for scavenger hunt stations,” Clark continued. The scavenger hunt inside the corn maze is just one of the hidden gems Clark highlighted on the property. “We’ve got our little pedal go-karts, we’ve got a barnyard basketball we kind of invented, it’s a really cool basketball – you’ll just have to see how it goes. We’ve got a western town, a zip line, we’ve got a lot of attractions, and the average visit here could run easily two to four and the corn maze is almost the least of it,” said Clark. That includes everything from a massive slide to farm animals, and everything in between. But of all the activities to enjoy as the fall continues, Clark said the hayride remains his favorite. “I started as a kid. I was in eighth grade when I had my first farmstead and we’ve been at it ever since,” said Clark. “All my life all I cared about was wanting to give a hayride. I bought this farm so I’d be able to give hayrides to the people, so for me to drive the hayride through the woods every so often… not every loop, but every so often I’m happy to do it,” Clark continued. The flashlight corn maze events are weather-dependent, with one scheduled for the 12th of October, and Clark Farms will continue to run events through the end of the month. Categories: News
