St. Tammany Parish firefighter awarded First Responder of The Year

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A St. Tammany Parish firefighter has been recognized as 2024 First Responder of the Year by the Keesler Federal Credit Union.
Local organizations looking for help in assisting hurricane victims
On Thursday, Oct. 10, Ryan Polk with St. Tammany Fire Protection District 2 accepted the award for his outstanding work as a first responder.

Polk was nominated for his work ethic and positive attitude, said credit union officials.
According to his coworkers, he "goes above and beyond to help out and always does something productive, taking time to teach new employees."
The award was first given nine years ago and has since expanded to all markets served by the credit union.
