Lancaster County Sheriff’s Captain John Vik said the fire happened in the 6000 block of Rebel Drive, which is southeast of 56th and Yankee Hill Road. Fire crews from several rural departments were called and helped put out the fire. Vik says the building appears to be a total loss, with $250,000 worth of damage to vehicles, tools and other items. Captain Vik says the initial investigation the fire may have been electrical in nature, but the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating. No one was hurt.     8:47am Friday LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 11)–A fire that broke out inside a shop or detached garage early Friday morning in a rural southeast Lincoln neighborhood that left behind major damage. It happened around 6:30am in the 6000 block of Rebel Drive, which is southeast of 56th and Yankee Hill Road.  According to reporter Ryan Swanigan from KFOR’s media partner, 10/11 News, the walls were still upright but the roof collapsed. “(Firefighters) had been cutting holes around the west, south and east sides of the building, in order just to be able to get better access inside and get water on the fire,” Swanigan reported.
