New Haven, CT – October 11, 2024: The Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven (BGCGNH) announced today that Tameika Miller has been selected as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 30, 2024. Miller currently serves as Executive Vice President of Member Engagement and Communications for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce. Her appointment follows a regional search conducted by the Executive Division of the Boys and Girls Club of America. “Tameika is passionate about our work to deepen our connections to the communities we serve,” said BGCGNH Board President Jamie McAdam. “During her time at the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, she demonstrated an ability to build partnerships with non-profit and for-profit entities alike. Tameika’s experience will strengthen our financial footing and enable us to build stronger programs for our kids.”Tameika brings over 20 years of marketing and communications experience to her new role and a lifelong passion for community service, philanthropy, and working with youth. While growing up in New York City, she participated in after-school programs, which gave her a full understanding of the impact that youth service agencies such as Boys and Girls Clubs can have on young people. “I am humbled and honored to step into the role of CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Haven,” said Miller. My vision is to create a safe and inspiring environment where every child has the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to unlock their full potential. I look forward to working in this region with donors and volunteers, our staff and board of directors, elected officials, companies, and community organizations to create a brighter future for our next generation.”BGCGNH Board Member Barbra Chesler, who chaired the search committee, called Miller a “charismatic and transformative leader able to connect with the New Haven, North Haven, and Wallingford communities in ways that celebrate what they have in common while respecting what makes them unique.” “Having worked with Tameika Miller during her tenure with the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, I am well acquainted with her gift for community-building and harnessing diverse constituencies in support of a greater goal,” said New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker. “I can’t think of a better person to lead this vital community organization. Her deep understanding of our business community and the needs of the families and youth who call the region home make her exceptionally well-equipped to strengthen the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven as an organization while helping its programs and services grow and evolve.”Miller will be working with a dedicated team, many of whom have served BGCGNH for many years. The Board wishes to thank Operations Director Jeff Pytlak for stepping in as Interim Executive Director during this period of transition. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven (BGCGNH) is a merger of the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven and Ulbrich Boys and Girls Club of Wallingford and North Haven.
