BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- An Arkansas man pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and third-degree feticide in connection to an Assumption Parish crash that left a woman and her unborn child dead. According to the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the guilty plea on Oct. 7 was part of a plea agreement. Louisiana troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash that left Tia Gorell, 23, dead before 11 a.m. Aug. 1, 2023, on Highway 308 south of Highway 1011. Investigators learned that Kendal Dollar, 39, of Strong, Arkansas, was traveling southbound on Highway 308 before crossing the centerline sideswiping a truck and hitting Gorell's car head-on. The district attorney's office said witnesses told troopers that Dollar had crossed the centerline multiple times before the crash. Dollar's blood test results showed the presence of amphetamines and methamphetamines. Dollar was sentenced to 20 years in prison with credit for time served.
