BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 2-year-old girl who died Thursday had "traumatic injuries consistent with abuse," according to Bakersfield police. Police made two arrests: Gregory Joseph Macdonald, 29, and Chandy Ann McCarthy, 40, both of Reno. 1 juvenile dead after shooting in Lamont: KCSO MacDonald was booked on suspicion of aggravated child abuse causing death, and McCarthy on suspicion of felony child endangerment, police said. They're due in court Tuesday. Police were called to the 300 block of Vernal Place in central Bakersfield on Thursday to a report of a child in medical distress. Officers assisted in life-saving efforts and the child was rushed to a hospital. She was pronounced dead. Police are asking anyone who knows of an endangered or abused child -- or who even suspects abuse -- to call local law enforcement, or Kern County Child Protective Services at 661-631-6011.
