Drafted 29th overall in 2019, Keldon was the bonus draft pick that came to San Antonio along with DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl by way of Toronto when the Spurs sent Kawhi Leonard and Danny Greene to the Raptors. He was chosen ten picks behind Luka Samanic and twenty picks before Quinndary Weatherspoon, both of whom left San Antonio in 2021. Big Body proved he is part of the Spurs future this summer when did the Spursiest of feats by passing along his #3 to Chris Paul. Previously, Johnson won Olympic gold with Pop in the Tokyo Olympics and their bond has been locked ever since. Today, Keldon turns 25. He’s one of six players on the team who will be a quarter-century old by the season’s end (with eleven even younger). This summer Johnson spent some time sculpting himself through boxing and rigorous workouts. He’s definitely vying for his roster spot on a team with seemingly unlimited potential. With youth, athleticism and vitality on his side, there is no telling what the year holds in store for KJ. Considering he’s being coached by one of the all-time greats and he’s sharing the floor with the Point God and a generational talent, there will be many opportunities for Johnson to shine. Happy birthday, Big Body! Keep being you, and we’ll keep enjoying the ride. Welcome to the Thread. Join in the conversation, start your own discussion, and share your thoughts.
