Most of the DMV will fall into the 30s, with readings near freezing likely along and west of I-81. The DC metro and I-95 corridor will be the only locations likely to stay in the 40s. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories are in place tonight to address the threat of widespread frost/freeze across our western counties. This frigid air won't last long, with warmer temperatures starting to return tomorrow. A wind shift with high-pressure overhead will push afternoon highs back into the upper 60s and lower 70s on Friday under sunny skies. As the high-pressure center moves south of the area, it will get even warmer on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the middle to upper 70s. Overnight lows will also start bumping back into the 40s and 50s each night. A weak storm system will approach from the north on Sunday, ushering clouds and a few spotty showers into the mix. With this passing system, rainfall chances will remain low, with very few locations picking up any measurable rain through Monday. Another significant burst of colder air will arrive behind this system early next week, with gusty northwest winds kicking up on Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures will fall from the 60s on Monday into the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday, our coldest days of the fall season yet. Overnight lows will be back into the 30s and 40s during this stretch. After cloudy skies begin the week, high pressure will clear things out and give us sunny skies again through the middle of next week. 7-Day Forecast: Tonight: Mostly clear with a widespread frost/freeze possible to the west.
