HONOLULU (KHON) -- Bottles4College is holding a large-scale recycling drive scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Pearlridge Center. Young entrepreneurs shine at Keiki Rise Makeke pop-up event The goal is to recycle at least 40,000 cans and bottles. The money collected from each recyclable item will be used to provide scholarships for local students. Organizers are actively seeking volunteers, particularly students who can earn volunteer hours while contributing to this important cause. In addition to the recycling drive, the initiative's founder, Genshu Price, has been recognized as a Youth Finalist for the prestigious Cox Preserves Young Heroes Award. Price is 16 years old and from Hauula. From Oct. 7 to Oct, 13, the public can vote for their favorite finalist. The winner will receive $30,000 in funding for their chosen nonprofit.
