SILVER LAKE (KSNT) - State troopers say a Topeka woman was seriously injured Thursday morning in a crash on Highway 24 near Silver Lake. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) said the crash occurred just after 10 a.m. on Oct. 10 less than half-a-mile east from where Lakeland Drive meets Highway 24. A Toyota RAV4 was traveling west on the highway when it left the road to the right, overcorrected to the left and crossed over both lanes of travel. The driver left the road to the left and began to roll. The RAV4 hit a fence while it was rolling before coming to a stop in the south ditch on Highway 24. The KHP said the driver, a 19-year-old woman from Topeka, was seriously injured in the crash. She was taken to a Topeka hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt during the crash. 3.5 magnitude earthquake reported in central Kansas For more local news, click here.
