RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A dog who was found in an apartment in Richmond days after her owner had died was taken in by Richmond Animal Care and Control (RACC) and now has an adoption pending. According to RACC, the dog, 2-year-old Kara Belle, appears to be a giant Cairn Terrier with "cooler" ears. Richmond Sheriff's deputies entered her apartment and found that her owner had passed away and that she was in the apartment on her own for several days. No one in the owner's family was able to take care of Kara Bella, so she ended up at RACC. The shelter said that Kara Belle likes other dogs and gets along with cats, and that she is "bouncy and wants an active lifestyle where she gets lots of exercise." Kara Bella already has an adoption pending, but there are plenty of other animals who need homes in Richmond. For residents of the Richmond area interested in adopting, RACC is waiving adoption fees through the end of this weekend and the Richmond SPCA is discounting adoption fees by 25% for the rest of October.
