OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A man barely lived through a stabbing that happened late Saturday night outside of a popular Oklahoma City restaurant. "I'm shocked," said Truong Le, the owner of Chick N' Beer. Le said something like this never happens in the community where they work and operate. He said his crew did the best they could after realizing what happened. | READ LOCAL NEWS > Oklahoma officials blame “refugee resettlement” for the election terror plot > Justin Carrow was arrested in connection to the stabbing, and an affidavit detailed one witness recounting the dark set of events that led to doctors calling police to tell them the victim wasn't likely to live. Court documents state that around midnight while the group was hanging out on the back patio, Carrow allegedly mentioned how he punched the victim, Logen Garnder's girlfriend one time in the past. The witness told police that it upset Gardner, so he verbally argued with Carrow about it. He told police that nothing was violent yet, but Carrow started to walk to his vehicle and opened the door. Gardner was said to have followed him to the vehicle and when Carrow opened the door, he was arguing on the other side. An affidavit alleged that Carrow had pulled out what looked to be a long black knife and made a swiping motion at Gardner's neck. Justin Carrow. Photo courtesy Oklahoma County Detention Center. The physical fight then began and at one point the witness said, Gardner was stabbed with the knife. Soon, Gardner was lying on the ground and seemed to be choking on his blood according to the affidavit. It stated Carrow was seen kneeling next to Gardner and the witness said he attempted to bring the knife up to stab him again before the witness stopped him. That's when the witness was reportedly cut on the hand by the knife and Carrow drove away. A witness on the scene called for help and police arrived less than ten minutes later. Gardner was said to have had a laceration on his neck, his stomach was cut so much that his organs were coming out, and he had a stab wound to his chest. | READ LOCAL NEWS > The Northern Lights Could Be Viewable in Oklahoma Tonight > "I got a call from one of my staff members panicking, freaking out," said Le. "When I arrived, I spoke with the officer briefly and he told me about it. It happened after we closed and we were just shocked." The affidavit alleged that Carrow drove to his apartment, cleaned up, changed clothes, and then called the police to tell them what had happened. When officials got to his apartment off Shartel, they reported blood being found on his vehicle and a bloody knife inside it. Carrow was arrested but was released later that same day. He told officials it was done in self-defense. News 4 attempted to contact Carrow to hear his side of the story but he said no and closed the door. As for the victim, police said that they believe Gardner survived the cuts. There is a GoFundMe set up by what looked to be a family member of Gardner. News 4 has reached out to that family member and is waiting to hear back.
