Man dead following Lacombearea shooting

LACOMBE, La. (WGNO) — A man is dead following a shooting that occurred in the Lacombe area on Wednesday night, Oct. 9.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, shortly before 10 p.m., deputies were sent to a residence in the 26000 block of E. Jackson Street to investigate a report of a person possibly having been shot.
Man arrested following Seabrook-area standoff
On arrival, a man was found, lying near the porch of the home, with an apparent gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were reportedly attempted but the man ultimately died.
The case is now being investigated by detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit.
