(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 10)–Ribbon was cut today Thursday morning on the next phase of installing the Pershing Center mural on a retaining wall that will serve as a backdrop to a pond in the south section of historical Wyuka Park and Cemetery near 35th and “O” Street. The mural be formed horizontally and raised to a vertical position on which the 140′ x 38′ mosaic, made up of 763,000 square-inch ceramic tiles, will be adhered in the spring of 2025. In addition, a 3-D tactile model of the Pershing Mural will be created, allowing access to the blind/those individuals with low vision, to appreciate its composition.  The 110-ton mural will become one of the largest free-standing mosaic murals in the world.
