BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — A man was arrested on Tuesday after police said he led law enforcement on a chase. According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, an officer was in the area of N US 31 and Market Place Dr. around 11:10 p.m. There, he noticed a white Ford pickup truck that had stopped at the intersection. Per the BCSO, that officer then saw the vehicle make a U-turn, intentionally fishtailed and caused the tires to squeal. That's when the officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on the Ford, the BCSO wrote. However, the vehicle then fled southbound on N Heflin Park Rd. BCSO added that the driver turned off his vehicle's lights, trying to avoid capture. The driver was later identified as 22-year-old Jaidyn Dyette of Indianapolis. The BCSO said Dyette drove at a high speed during the pursuit, blew through multiple stop signs and drove into a ditch. The pursuit then came to a close when Dyette pulled over, sticking both hands out the driver's window, BCSO said. He was then taken into custody without incident. Dyette now faces the following preliminary misdemeanor charges: Resisting law enforcement Operating a vehicle with a suspended license Operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangerment Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving
