Man allegedly admits to shooting woman in Kendallville parking lot: court docs

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WANE) - A 23-year-old man who faces an attempted murder charge in Kendallville allegedly admitted to shooting a woman in the head, according to Noble Superior Court documents.
Blake Frederickson was charged in connection to a shooting that happened early Saturday morning, according to court documents filed Wednesday.
The Kendallville Police Department began investigating in the 1400 block of South Main Street after someone called 911 to report shots fired.

An unresponsive woman was found lying down in the parking lot of an apartment complex. She had to be flown to a Fort Wayne hospital for critical injuries. A bullet or its fragments were lodged in her head, according to court documents.
Shortly before 2 a.m., investigators spotted a man - later identified as Frederickson - walking along the shoulder of SR 3, according to court documents.
Police wrote in court documents that Frederickson "was not wearing a shirt and was covered in briars." He voluntarily agreed to be taken to the Kendallville Police Department to be questioned on his whereabouts at the time of the shooting, according to court documents.
During the interview with police, Frederickson initially said he knew the shooting victim. He allegedly went on to reveal just how closely he was involved.
Frederickson and the woman had traveled from Fort Wayne to visit someone at the Kendallville complex, he allegedly told police, but an argument broke out and they went out to the parking lot where he shot her in the back of the head, according to court documents.
