BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is searching for a man accused of killing an East Baton Rouge Parish Schools employee. Jaymie Thomas, 19, is wanted on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon convicted felon. According to police, the body of Marcus Spears, 55, was found in a grassy field around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 by homicide detectives in the 3000 block of East Mason Drive. Around 7:46 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, officers responded to the 10008 block of Avenue L in reference to a public assistance call regarding a vehicle belonging to a missing person, according to the police.
